1. Introduction #
Welcome to PDF Fusion ("we," "our," or "the App"). We believe your documents, personal notes, and private files belong strictly to you. This Privacy Policy outlines how PDF Fusion handles your information, what permissions we require, and how we protect your privacy when you use our mobile application.
By installing and using PDF Fusion, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Our Core Guarantee: 100% On-Device Processing #
Your documents, pages, signatures, passwords, and images never leave your device.
All document operations—including:
- Reading and viewing PDF documents,
- Scanning documents using your device's camera,
- Merging multiple PDF files into one,
- Splitting, reordering, rotating, and deleting pages,
- Compressing PDF documents,
- Annotating, adding text, applying watermarks, inserting page numbers, and affixing digital signatures,
- Converting gallery photos and images to PDF,
- Exporting PDF pages as images,
- Password encryption and decryption—
are performed entirely offline and locally using your device's native CPU, RAM, and internal storage sandbox. We do not operate external web servers, cloud storage repositories, or remote processing pipelines for your files.
3. Information We Process & Collect #
A. Personal Information You Provide
- User Accounts: PDF Fusion does not require registration, accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
- Document Content: The contents of files you open, edit, or create in the App are processed in temporary local memory and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
B. Automatically Collected Diagnostic & Ad Data
To support development and app availability, PDF Fusion integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Google AdMob may automatically collect certain pseudonymized data:
- Device Identifiers: Mobile advertising identifiers (such as the Google Android Advertising ID / AAID).
- Technical Information: Device manufacturer, model, operating system version, screen resolution, and language settings.
- Usage & Ad Telemetry: Ad impressions, clicks, frequency capping tracking, and SDK loading error diagnostics.
- Approximate Location: Coarse location derived from IP address (not precise GPS) to display geographically relevant advertisements.
4. Device Permissions & Transparency #
PDF Fusion adheres strictly to the principle of least privilege, requesting only the permissions necessary to deliver the features you choose to use:
| Permission | Technical Name | Why It Is Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | android.permission.CAMERA |
Requested only when you use the Document Scanner to capture physical documents. Camera frames are processed strictly in device memory. |
| Storage & Media | READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE |
Used via Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF) to let you select files and save processed PDFs. The App only accesses the files you explicitly select. |
| Internet & Network | INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Required exclusively by the Google AdMob SDK to request and display advertisements. |
* We do not request or use broad file manager permissions (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE).
5. Third-Party Services (Google AdMob) #
PDF Fusion serves advertisements through Google AdMob. Google uses advertising identifiers and non-sensitive diagnostic telemetry in compliance with Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Ads Technologies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Managing Your Advertising Choices:
- In-App Controls: You can toggle personalized vs. non-personalized advertising directly inside the App by opening Settings ➔ Ad Consent & Preferences.
- Device-Level Opt-Out: You can reset or delete your Advertising ID anytime by going to Android Settings ➔ Google ➔ Ads ➔ Reset / Delete advertising ID.
- Personalized Ads Toggle: You can opt out of personalized ads via your Google Account settings.
6. Data Retention and Deletion #
- Document Files: Processed files are saved to your chosen local folder or the App's private local storage sandbox. We retain zero copies of your documents.
- App Preferences & History: Your recent files list, favorite bookmarks, and theme preferences are stored exclusively on your device using local SQLite / encrypted storage.
- Data Removal: You can clear your recent files history inside the App at any time. Uninstalling PDF Fusion permanently removes all stored app preferences and cached files from your device.
7. Security Standards #
Because all document rendering, editing, and cryptographic encryption occur locally on your device:
- Your confidential data is protected by Android's application sandboxing architecture.
- Files cannot be intercepted in transit because no file transit occurs.
- Password encryption applied to your PDFs uses industry-standard AES cryptography directly executed on your device.
8. Children's Privacy #
PDF Fusion is a general-purpose utility designed for students, educators, and professionals. The App does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take immediate corrective steps.
9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance) #
Depending on your geographical jurisdiction (including the European Economic Area and California), you may have the following rights regarding personal data:
- Right to Know / Access: Because we do not store your personal data or document content on external servers, there is no personal profile retained by us.
- Right to Deletion: You can delete all local data at any time by clearing the application storage cache or uninstalling the App.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale / Sharing: PDF Fusion does not sell your personal data or document content. For ad-supported third-party network disclosures, please review Section 5.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy #
We may periodically revise this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates, new features, or statutory regulatory standards. Whenever changes are made, the revised policy will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document.
